This is Radio is a video mini-documentary series about the people who are keeping public radio in the limelight and created for Transom.org by Andrew Norton. The logo needed to be static, as well as animated and after lengthy research we decided on what you see below. A very simple idea with clean type. The red bar represents the radio tuner and the type was tracked-out to follow the aesthetic of radio logos from the '50's. There was also a need to visualize the audio clips you see throughout the series. We shot the clips for the trailer and, at the same time, got some footage of a really cool-looking oscilloscope. This is what was used as the basis for the visualizations.
